The benefits package is one of the most critical elements of any long-term international assignment, shaping the employee experience, influencing acceptance rates, and determining the success of costly, complex moves. As mobility becomes increasingly strategic, global mobility (GM) teams are stepping into a more influential role.
In 2021, just over half of organisations (51%) reported that GM was responsible for defining assignment benefits; today, that figure has risen to 63%. This shift reflects a growing recognition of GM’s expertise in balancing employee expectations with business priorities and in ensuring policy decisions support both operational and strategic goals.
